Association of rotational molding – organization for roto-molders to network, share ideas and improve practices, procedures and policies.
Short posts, often topped with lights, used as pathway illumination or as perimeter markers or barriers to keep vehicles from crossing into pedestrian areas, also used for landscape lighting.
A reverse casting of the final product, into which the resin is poured. All molds for rotational molding are made this way. The exterior cast makes the item inside. The product is made from the outside in.
Much larger than what is found at a home improvement or hardware store. Suited for outdoor applications such as barrier between pedestrian and vehicular areas, while serving as beautification for streets, pathways, intersections, city architecture, and so on.
Appearance of stone, like granite, speculate added for depth and variation.
Light Emitting Diode, a type of light bulb that outlasts incandescent and filament style bulbs. LED bulbs generate much less heat than halogen, incandescent or filament bulbs. Some can last as long as ten years. Often used for Christmas lights, but also found in remote controls, watches, computers, traffic lights, and so on. Most well known for their energy efficiency and longevity.
“Less than truckload” Term for shipping palletized items on a truck that is selling its extra available space. The LTL truck heading to a certain destination sells its extra space and adds a fee for delivery of your item to its destination, which in the direction of, or on the way to, the LTL truck’s final destination.
The way mold is made, aluminum is machined to build a mold.
Custom graphic is built or applied to the inside of the mold; therefore, graphic is built into the design of the item during molding.
Planters and roto-molded items are made in a mold, like a shell, which we use to replicate our products.
Does not have pores. Not permeable by air, moisture, etc. Impermeable.
A type of plastic composed of polyethylene, or similar material. Not to be confused with organic resin, which is basically tree sap. TerraCast® uses linear low density polyethylene.
Hollow clamshell mold is filled with a shot weight of resin, sealed shut for cooking. Machine arms rotate the mold on two perpendicular axes in an oven. The melted Resin disperses and paints into the mold, and the consistent rotation maintains even thickness in the oven and in the cooling chamber.
The finish given to the inside of a mold, giving a “goosebumps” texture.
The final visual output of the surface of our products.

Machine arms in a roto-molding factory change between the three production cycles: filling, cooking, cooling.
Does not accept, absorb or retain moisture.
Having become porous. Used to describe aluminum or metal where moisture has eaten away at the metal, causing tiny holes, pockmarks, or pores, which transfer onto molded castings as imperfections, tiny dots.
Name given to the style of rim which has a round lip coming up and rolls over the circular top of the planter.
Additional product TerraCast® offers for planters. Has a reservoir and a water wicking system so the plants can draw up the moisture from the reservoir, watering themselves. See Self-Watering Planters.
Name given to the style of rim that is squared off: all corners come to a point and make a 90-degree edge that drops over from the top, inside & outside the top of the planter.
Additives blended into the resin, which protects product from harmful UV rays, like sunscreen. TerraCast® uses UV12, which gives about 12 years of protection against bleaching or fading in the sunlight.
