TerraCast® uses a Linear Low Density Polyethylene resin to make high quality, durable planters, bollards and landscape lighting. LLDPE Resin is a member of the plastic family, formulated to be outdoors for many years. It’s non-porous and non-hydroscopic, so nothing sticks to it and nothing gets through it.
That means no water stains, no orange discoloration from rusty sprinkler pipes, no leaking or leaching, no dripping, and no cracking or corroding.
The “glass” on our Luminaires is actually made of either LLDPE, polyurethane, or acrylic, materials that don’t shatter. A stray ball won’t shatter your lanterns.
Resin doesn’t fade, so you’ll never have to re-paint. The color is blended all the way through, along with a UV inhibitor to prevent fading, bleaching and aging, like sunscreen!
TerraCast® bollards, luminaires and Tree Rings will never chip, crack, rust or corrode, because resin doesn’t do those things. It’s virtually indestructible, so you can feel confident about placing our products wherever you’d like to see them, and know they’ll last a lifetime.
All of our landscape lighting products are backed by a 3-year warranty. You can feel good about making an investment in these products that you can enjoy for years and years, savoring the savings, and also the worry-free ease of ownership. That means never having to look at a shabby, rusted old light fixture and wonder why you ever bought that nasty thing, and grumble about replacing it.
That sort of unhappy ending doesn’t happen with resin!
Speaking of colors, TerraCast® is committed to being Green. We understand the philosophies of the US Green Building Council and we use sustainable practices in our factories. Natural gas heats the ovens that cook the molds and reclaimed water rinses them off in our cooling chambers.
We’re also committed to the Red, White & Blue. TerraCast is a homegrown, American company. Bob Grossman founded our original company, Roto-Cast; with his partner Tom Schidel, in 1969. We love this country and we support the American economy. All of our factories are on US soil, our employees are tax-paying citizens, and we use domestic materials to make our products.
Bob’s grandson, Brad Goldring, is now the company’s President and CEO. We like to keep it in the family, the American Family.
So when you purchase from TerraCast®, you are not only saving money, you’re helping the American economy, and helping to save the planet!
