Thousands of residents and visitors in the City of St. Petersburg have discovered the beautiful year-round weather this community offers and the best ways to enjoy it. Walking and bicycling have proven to be a healthy and fun way to enjoy the parks, waterfronts, retail destinations and neighborhoods. The challenge for the city is to always find ways to make these forms of transportation safer while adding to the beauty of the city. The City of St. Petersburg reached out to TerraCast® Products to help them with their vision of promoting, educating and investing in bicycle friendliness. By utilizing TerraCast®’s durable and maintenance free planters to help delineate a safer barrier between bicyclist and vehicular traffic, the city was also able to adorn 1st Street South with beautiful planters that feature blooming, native flowers to compliment the eastern bayfront Municipal Marina, Pioneer Park and Al Lang Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Rowdies. This is all a small part of what has allowed St. Petersburg to be recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Silver-Level Bicycle Friendly City.
